Rachel Mackenzie Clay is a self-taught artist based in Chicago, that creates work inspired by her daily life. As a wedding designer, she works in an environment defined by both the depth of human connection and the dynamic beauty of floral design. She works primarily with preserved blooms, plaster, and clay, favoring materials that carry both texture and memory. Her work has been featured within both collaborations with decor curators, as well as commissions by private collectors drawn to her organic, tactile aesthetic. More recently, her work has been published in Chicago Style Magazine.
This collection titled “Resurgence, A Way By Which” is a dedication to bringing life out of otherwise lifeless material. Each petal is handcrafted of clay, and thoughtfully placed to create everlasting movement from the still.
